Day 1: Arrival in Munich
Your adventure begins with your individual arrival in Munich, whether by plane, train, or car. After settling in, you'll embark on a guided tour of this vibrant city, followed by a delightful welcome dinner. Your first night will be spent in a comfortable 4-star hotel in Munich's city center, such as the Platzl Hotel, with dinner at a charming traditional restaurant.
Day 2: Munich - Weltenburg Abbey - Regensburg
This morning, a transfer will whisk you from the Bavarian capital to the border of Lower Bavaria with the Upper Palatinate, leading you to the famous Weltenburg Abbey at the Danube Gorge. This monastery is nestled within one of Germany's most beautiful river landscapes, with a significant Roman border and military road established here as early as 45 AD. With over 1000 years of history, this Benedictine monastery has a rich and eventful past. After a guided visit, you'll embark on a picturesque boat trip through the stunning Danube breakthrough. Your e-bikes will be waiting for you at the pier in Kehlheim, and you'll cycle along the increasingly mighty Danube to the former Free Imperial City of Regensburg. You'll cross the famous Stone Bridge to reach your hotel on the Danube island for the night.
Day 3: Regensburg - Bavarian Forest/Cham
After breakfast, you'll embark on your second cycling stage. You'll consistently follow the beautiful course of the Regen river, passing through magnificent deciduous forests, river meadows, and natural landscapes. For our lunch break, we've chosen an excellent spot in Roding, widely known as the gateway to the Bavarian Forest. Continuing along the many meanders of the Regen, you'll soon reach today's destination, Cham.
Day 4: Bavarian Forest/Cham – Furth im Wald – Domazlice / Bohemia
A stroll through Cham, with its over 1000-year history, will enchant you once more before you begin today's cycling stage. Initially, you'll follow the Cham river, which quickly leads you to Furth im Wald, the "City of the Dragon's Sting." The Drachenstich, Germany's oldest folk play, attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the city each year. Your guide will tell you more about the festival and the technology behind the world's largest four-legged walking robot. From Furth, the German-Czech border is just a few kilometers away. On the Bohemian side, the path continues to Domazlice. The route is mostly flat, following small roads and cycle paths. Your destination is Domazlice, a charming town renowned for its beautiful arcaded market square.
Day 5: Domazlice – Pilsen
The charming town of Domazlice will truly delight you. Nestled in unspoiled nature, the town boasts a vibrant folklore tradition. Its center is adorned with numerous colorful Renaissance houses featuring arcades. Horšovský Týn Castle is one of the most significant architectural sights in West Bohemia. The original bishop's castle with its chapel was built in the early Gothic style. In 1557, the castle was severely damaged by fire and subsequently rebuilt in a Renaissance style. A large garden also belongs to the castle. You'll then traverse magnificent landscapes by regional train and e-bike, visiting many small villages on your way to Pilsen. A good Pilsner beer at the Pilsner Urquell Brewery provides a perfect conclusion to the day, rewarding you for your efforts.
Day 6: Pilsen – Beroun
Today you'll cycle through tranquil landscapes and nature parks. Small, idyllic villages along the Klabava stream, such as Dobřív with its historic water mill, dot your path. Your stage destination, Beroun, invites you to linger. We'll explore the medieval city walls of Beroun on foot before dinner.
Day 7: Beroun – Karlštejn Castle – Prague
On your final cycling stage, you'll first ride along the spectacular river valley of the Berounka. Soon, you'll reach Karlštejn, a high-Gothic castle built as early as 1348, renowned far beyond the country's borders. Just before Prague, the Berounka flows into the Vltava, which will now guide you directly into the city center of Prague. The Czech metropolis is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. An evening city stroll and a refined dinner will be the crowning conclusion to your impressive cycling tour.
