Follow the footsteps of the Impressionists from Paris to Normandy, along the winding Seine, linking the city with the coast. Normandy, once shaped by the Normans, today offers postcard landscapes: half-timbered villages, grazing cattle, romantic ruins, and chalk cliffs that inspired countless painters and poets — above all, the Impressionists. Yet Normandy is more than idyllic scenery. It is a place where history changed the world. A moving ride along the D-Day beaches, from Omaha Beach to Juno Beach, invites reflection. Quiet coastal roads lead past historic sites like the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer — a powerful reminder of the courage and sacrifice of June 6, 1944.
Further highlights include Monet’s famous water lily garden, the chalk cliffs of Étretat, and Rouen’s historic old town. After a day of cycling, relax aboard your ship as Paris and Normandy glide past — combining art, history, and nature into one unforgettable journey.
You decide how you want to ride: whether with a classic gravel bike or the extra support of an e-bike, the choice is yours — ensuring every guest enjoys the journey at their own pace.

Day 2: The Capital of Normandy: Rouen | 12 mi. / 20 km
You depart from the Ile de France overnight and wake up to the serene beauty of Normandy in the morning. Enjoy the scenic ride aboard your ship as it gracefully navigates the wide loops of the Seine, passing by quaint villages, verdant meadows, and densely forested hills.
You begin your stay in Rouen in the afternoon with a short bike ride to a panoramic viewpoint over the city. During the subsequent city tour on foot through the old town of Rouen, we will also show you the famous, impressive cathedral. Rouen exudes medieval charm with its iconic clock tower and magnificent cathedral. The towering spires of the cathedral dominate the city's skyline, evoking a sense of grandeur and history. A poignant reminder of the city's past unfolds at the square "Du Vieux Marché," where Jeanne d’Arc, the Maid of Orleans, met a tragic fate, being burned as a witch.
Your ship will remain moored overnight in Rouen, allowing you ample time to wander the medieval streets and soak in the city's ambiance. A special treat awaits in the summer months: as the sun sets, the cathedral is bathed in a mesmerizing light show accompanied by music (available from June 1st to September 15th). We highly recommend experiencing this captivating spectacle after dinner. It's just a short 15-minute walk from the ship to the cathedral portal, where you can witness this enchanting display free of charge.
Day 3: D-Day Beaches from Omaha Beach to Juno Beach - A Ride Through History | Approx. 25 miles / 41 km
Follow the path of history along the windswept shores of Normandy, where courage and sacrifice changed the course of the 20th century. This unforgettable day combines gentle cycling (your choice of gravel bike or e-bike) with poignant moments of remembrance along the famous D-Day landing beaches. Your journey begins at Omaha Beach, where the brave efforts of American troops marked one of the most decisive chapters of World War II. Here, a guided visit to the Omaha Beach Museum brings the events of June 6, 1944 vividly to life — through authentic exhibits, personal stories, and powerful historical accounts. A short ride takes us to the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, resting place of nearly 10,000 U.S. soldiers. Standing amidst the endless rows of white crosses overlooking the English Channel is a humbling experience that words can barely describe.
We continue our ride along quiet coastal roads and sandy beaches, where the salty sea breeze accompanies every pedal stroke. The terrain is gentle, inviting you to enjoy the scenery and reflect on the historical significance of the landscape. Midway through our ride, we pause for a relaxed picnic lunch — the perfect moment to savor the views, share impressions, and appreciate the peacefulness of the Normandy coastline today. Our final destination is Juno Beach, where Canadian forces came ashore. Here, the story of the Allied landings comes full circle, set against the backdrop of wide, open beaches and the rolling waves of the Atlantic. After this meaningful and scenic day, a comfortable transfer will take you back to your ship in Rouen, where you can relax and reflect on the impressions of this special journey.
Day 4: Picturesque Alabaster Coast | Approx. 31 miles / 50 km
In the morning, we'll whisk you away to the enchanting Côte d'Albâtre, renowned as one of the most breathtaking stretches of the Norman coast. Nestled amidst the towering chalk cliffs lies the picturesque seaside resort of Étretat, captivating all who visit with its spellbinding beauty. As you traverse along a cliff path (an easy hike), the awe-inspiring grandeur of this landscape unfolds before you, with its imposing needle-shaped formations that have inspired countless artists, including Boudin, Monet, and Manet.
After taking a leisurely break to soak in the surroundings, you'll embark on a delightful cycling journey along charming streets, winding through quaint Norman villages, past sprawling farms dotted with white cattle, and alongside small châteaux until you reach Tancarville. From Tancarville, a convenient transfer will whisk you back to the ship, patiently awaiting your return in Caudebec-en-Caux, allowing you to reflect on the day's adventures amidst the serene beauty of the Seine.
Day 5: King Lionhearts Castle on white cliffs & Monet's Home & Garden | Approx. 28 miles / 46 km
In the morning your ship reaches Les Andelys. Here the Seine draws wide loops and has carved steep cliffs out of the limestone. The mighty ruins of Richard the Lionheart tower picturesquely over the river and offer us a romantic view of the small half-timbered village at the foot of high, white rocks. From Les Andelys you cycle first along the Seine and then along a mountain path back to the graceful ruins of Richard the Lionheart. On a guided walk you will learn more about the importance and dramatic decline of the castle and experience magnificent views. Once at the top, the e-bikes are ready for departure. The beautiful cycle tour along the Seine leads upriver to Giverny to Monet's water lily ponds and gardens. The world-famous impressionist lived here for 50 years and his green and pink house still looks as if the painter had just left it. It is densely overgrown with a wonderful garden that the artist created himself and which inspired many of his pictures. After a walk through the extensive complex, we follow the course of the Seine on side paths to the impressive La Roche Guyon Castle, which rises deep into the white limestone. From his garden you have a fantastic view of the Seine. Your tour guides will explain the history of the chateau to you. A short transfer takes you back to the A-ROSA VIVA in the early evening, which has docked in Vernon in the meantime.
Day 6: Savoir-Vivre on the Seine
Today offers a leisurely day of cruising aboard the VIVA as we gracefully navigate the meandering Seine through the beautiful Ile de France region, eventually arriving in Paris.
During the afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to engage in an informative talk from your guide, delving into the rich tapestry of French culture, history, and its people. It's a wonderful chance to deepen your understanding and appreciation of this fascinating country as you glide along the tranquil waters of the Seine.
As you relax and take in the scenery, allow yourself to be pampered by the onboard amenities, whether it's enjoying a refreshing drink on deck, indulging in a spa treatment, or simply soaking up the ambiance of the ship.
In the evening, dinner will be served on board, offering a delightful culmination to a day of leisurely cruising. As night falls, you'll have the opportunity to reflect on the memories made during your journey along the Seine, with the glittering lights of Paris serving as a magical backdrop for your overnight stay on board.

Your journey leads you along the picturesque Canal St. Martin until you reach the Seine, where a breathtaking view of Île St. Louis and Notre-Dame Cathedral awaits. Cycling along the tranquil and car-free banks of the Seine via Pont Neuf, you'll pass by sights where once the roar of car traffic dominated.
In the Tuileries Gardens, you'll discover the Orangerie, home to Monet's impressive water lily cycle and other masterpieces by the Impressionists. A detailed guided tour will immerse you in the world of Monet and his contemporaries, offering insights into their artistic vision.
