Day 1: Arrival & Embarkation in Duisburg / Ruhr River Valley
Arrival in Duisburg and embarkation in the afternoon. After settling into your comfortable cabin, enjoy a welcome drink and meet your tour guides and fellow travelers. In the evening, your floating hotel begins its journey north towards the Netherlands. Relax on deck and enjoy the first impressions of the Rhine River landscape.

Day 2: Amsterdam, Gauda & Waterland Region | Approx. 38 miles / 60 km
Today we embark on a journey away from the vibrant energy of Amsterdam and immerse ourselves in the tranquil landscape of the Isselmeer on an exciting e-bike tour. We start on board a ferry and cross the calm waters of the Amstel with the iconic Amsterdam Tower and the Eye Film Museum in view. Once on the other side, we hop on our bikes and ride through the charming neighborhood of Old Holland before heading to Broek in Waterland, a pristine nature park. On the way through this idyllic landscape, we are greeted by picturesque canals, bridges and historic farms. The flat terrain offers panoramic views that seem to stand the test of time, with sprawling fields as far as the eye can see. Along the way, we meet traditional Dutch farmers working their land, adding to the timeless charm of the region. As we cycle through the picturesque villages of Broek, we feel as if we are immersed in a bygone era, where life is quiet and the architecture is reminiscent of another time. Protected by miles of dykes and punctuated by charming pumping stations, this area has developed into a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts on land and water. At the end of the day, we return to the ship for a delicious dinner, review the day's adventures and enjoy the memories we have created.

Day 3: Dutch Dunes, Beaches & Historic Towns | Approx. 46 miles / 75 km
This unforgettable cycling excursion takes you through some of the most beautiful coastal landscapes in the Netherlands. Starting from Amsterdam or the nearby coast, your route leads south towards Rotterdam along scenic bike paths through dunes, charming seaside resorts, and picturesque Dutch towns. One of the highlights of today’s ride is the spectacular dune landscape along the North Sea coast. Wide sandy beaches, rolling dunes, and endless sea views create a truly relaxing atmosphere. The route follows excellent cycling paths with frequent access to the beach, allowing plenty of opportunities to stop, enjoy the ocean breeze, or relax at one of the many inviting beach cafés and bars along the way. The tour include the charming Dutch Capital. Den Hague combines elegant boulevards, royal flair, and coastal charm. From there, a comfortable train transfer may bring you closer to Rotterdam after the cycling portion of the day. After arriving in Rotterdam, return to the ship and enjoy the evening aboard your floating hotel while reflecting on a wonderful day along the Dutch coast.

Day 4: Rotterdam, Delft & Dutch Waterways | Approx. 34 miles / 55 km
Today combines everything that makes the Netherlands so fascinating: spectacular modern architecture, world-famous Dutch traditions, idyllic waterways, and beautiful cycling routes through the heart of Holland. Your day begins in vibrant Rotterdam, Europe’s largest port city and one of the most innovative urban centers in the world. Rising dramatically along the Maas River, Rotterdam impresses visitors with its futuristic skyline, bold architecture, and dynamic atmosphere. Often nicknamed “Maashattan,” the city perfectly combines maritime heritage with contemporary design. One of the city’s most iconic landmarks is the elegant Erasmus Bridge, affectionately known as “The Swan.” Spanning the Maas River with its striking silhouette, the bridge has become a symbol of Rotterdam’s modern identity. Another architectural masterpiece awaits at the spectacular Rotterdam Market Hall, whose enormous arched structure and colorful ceiling artwork create one of the most impressive indoor spaces in Europe. Leaving the modern skyline behind, your E-Bike tour follows scenic Dutch waterways and peaceful cycling paths towards the historic town of Delft. Day 5: Dordrecht & the Windmills of Kinderdijk | Approx. 27 miles / 45 km
Today’s cycling tour takes you deep into the heart of traditional Holland. Starting in the historic trading city of Dordrecht, you ride along scenic canals, peaceful dikes, and endless green meadows through the beautiful Dutch polder landscape.The highlight of the day awaits at the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk. Here, 19 historic windmills line the waterways, creating one of the most iconic and photographed landscapes in the Netherlands. This unique setting perfectly reflects the Dutch mastery of water management and offers countless unforgettable views. Along the route, charming villages, picturesque bridges, and tranquil river scenery create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed and enjoyable E-Bike experience. After returning to Dordrecht, your ship awaits for another wonderful evening on board.

Day 6: Nijmegen, Emmerich & Dutch Polder Landscapes | Approx. 44 miles / 72 km
The Hanseatic City of Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands. The Romans had already established a significant fort (castellum) here. Following a short introduction to the fascinating history of Nijmegen, you set off along the scenic dikes between the River Waal and the vast Dutch polder landscapes. This very easy and enjoyable cycling stage leads through one of the Netherlands’ most characteristic river regions. Your route follows peaceful riverside paths and quiet country roads through wide-open meadows, charming villages, and idyllic floodplain scenery. Along the way, grazing cows, traditional Dutch windmills, and picturesque farmhouses create the perfect postcard setting. The extensive polder landscapes, much of them lying below sea level, beautifully showcase the centuries-old Dutch mastery of water management. Continuing eastward along the River Waal, you gradually approach the German border and the charming town of Emmerich am Rhein. Located directly on the banks of the Rhine River, Emmerich welcomes visitors with its relaxed riverside atmosphere, attractive promenade, and impressive views of one of Germany’s longest suspension bridges. During a leisurely stop in Emmerich, you can enjoy a coffee break along the Rhine promenade, soak in the international atmosphere of this border region, or simply watch the passing river traffic while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Afterwards, the tour continues through tranquil river landscapes and green floodplains before returning to the ship in the early afternoon.

Day 7: Duisburg & the Ruhr Valley | Approx. 43 miles / 70 km
Today’s bike excursion introduces you to one of Germany’s most surprising cycling regions: the Ruhr Valley. Once shaped by coal and steel, the area has transformed into a fascinating cultural landscape filled with green riverbanks, industrial heritage sites, and modern urban flair. Your tour follows large sections of the famous Ruhrtal Radweg, one of Germany’s most popular long-distance cycling routes. Riding mostly on well-maintained bike paths along the Ruhr River, you will discover a perfect blend of nature, history, and contemporary culture. Peaceful riverside trails, forests, small villages, and former industrial landmarks accompany you throughout the day. A particular highlight is the impressive Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, one of Europe’s most spectacular examples of industrial transformation. The former ironworks has been turned into a unique public park where massive blast furnaces, steel structures, gardens, and walking paths create an extraordinary atmosphere. Depending on the final itinerary, a guided visit or a relaxed picnic break can be arranged here. The route offers a wonderful variety of scenery: tranquil river landscapes alternate with impressive industrial monuments, charming neighborhoods, and panoramic viewpoints. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to stop at local cafés or beer gardens and experience the authentic atmosphere of the Ruhr region. After an active day full of discoveries, return to the ship in Duisburg and enjoy the last evening on board.

E-BIKE TRIP - ROUTE ASSESSMENT: The total distance by e-bike is approx. 234 Miles (377 km). The low-traffic cycle paths or small side streets along the IJsselmeer, the Rhine and the canals are almost without gradients. Wind can be tiring right on the Dutch coast. Then you can change to our escort bus at any time.
