Day 1: Frankfurt to Mainz | Approx. 26 miles / 42 kilometers
Embark on your unforgettable journey along the iconic Rhine River as you pedal from Frankfurt, tracing the picturesque Main River. Delight in the medieval charm of Höchst, once a part of the Archbishopric of Main and now a district of Frankfurt. Take a leisurely pause to savor local delights like Ebbelwoi and handkäs with music (traditional apple wine and cheese), immersing yourself in the rich culinary traditions of the region. Continue your adventure towards Eddersheim, meandering through vineyards and historic towns that dot the landscape. As you approach the confluence of the Main and the Rhine, the beauty of this merging of waters unfolds before you. Cross the Rhine and arrive at Mainz, a city steeped in over 2000 years of history. Explore attractions such as the magnificent cathedral, a testament to Gothic architecture, and the Gutenberg Museum, where the history of printing comes to life.

Day 2: Mainz to Oberwesel | Approx. 40 miles / 64 kilometers

Glide through the captivating town of Eltville, known for its enchanting gardens and historic half-timbered houses, before reaching the world-renowned wine haven of Rüdesheim am Rhein. A detour to the Niederwald monument awaits, reached by a scenic chairlift ride, offering a panoramic view of the Rhine Valley that's not to be missed. Take in the sweeping landscapes before continuing your journey.
Crossing the Rhine, you'll discover Kaub, a quaint town with a rich history, dominated by its 700-year-old toll castle set on a small island in the river. As you pedal through the UNESCO-listed "Upper Middle Rhine Valley," characterized by terraced vineyards and romantic castles, pause in the picturesque town of Bacharach, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and charming cobblestone streets. Your cycling adventure leads you to Oberwesel, famed for its medieval city walls and the imposing Schönburg Castle perched high above the town.     This seasonally opened castle hotel is set on a wooded hill overlooking the River Rhine, 950 meters from the Oberwesel Train Station and 1 km from the Medieval Town Center. The traditional rooms feature antique furniture, a flat-screen TV and free minibar.
     
  • Koblenz: Hotel Mercure**** 
    The Mercure Hotel Koblenz is a 4-star hotel on the Rhine, offering an ideal location. Here you can expect comfortable accommodation with air-conditioned rooms, free Wi-Fi and a fitness room open around the clock.
     
  • Bad Godesberg: Boutique Hotel Dreesen**** 
    You can stay in an elegantly and modern styled, charming Art Nouveau villa in the middle of the Bad Godesberg villa district. There are two Art Nouveau villas that are connected by a glass bridge. If you want to pamper yourself with culinary delights in the evening, visit the "Halbedels Gasthaus", which is 5 minutes' walk away. The star chef Rainer Maria Halbedel cooks here. However you spend the evening, you can have breakfast in the light-flooded winter garden with plenty of space and direct access to the garden.
