We begin our journey in Orbetello, where a picturesque dam spans a wide lagoon, offering a serene starting point for our exploration.
As we pedal along, we'll discover hidden mansions dotting the landscape, a testament to the allure of this hilly peninsula that has attracted affluent individuals from across Europe. It's clear they recognize the unique beauty of this region, and as we continue our ride, we'll be captivated by its charm. Day 5: Cycling to the island of Elba | 32 miles

After a day of cycling and exploration, we'll embark on a short ferry crossing to the enchanting island of Elba. Here, a charming hotel perched above a tranquil bay awaits us.
Day 6: Panoramic tour through Elba | 34 miles
Prepare for an unforgettable cycling adventure along the rugged and dramatic west coast of the island of Elba. Here, the mountains rise sharply, the forests are dense and lush, and the cliffs plunge dramatically into the azure sea below. Our route takes us along a pleasantly shady panorama route, where we'll cycle up and down, following the contours of the coastline. After a day of exhilarating cycling and awe-inspiring scenery, we'll return to our hotel for our second overnight stay. Nestled amidst this rugged landscape, our hotel offers a peaceful sanctuary where we can relax and rejuvenate, ready to continue our exploration of this captivating island.
Day 7: Napoleon on Elba | 12 miles
Explore the rich history of Elba, where crystal-clear waters, vibrant nature, and abundant minerals are complemented by the island's association with one of history's most iconic figures: Napoleon Bonaparte. Our journey takes us to Villa San Martino, where you'll delve into the intriguing story of Napoleon's years in exile on Elba, gaining insight into his life and legacy during this tumultuous period. From Villa San Martino, our adventure continues with a combination of hiking and biking as we make our way back to the picturesque bay of Biodola. Along the way, we'll traverse scenic trails and winding paths, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of Elba's rugged landscape.
Day 8: Departure or Extension
After enjoying a hearty breakfast and bidding farewell to the beautiful island of Elba, we'll arrange transportation to take you back to the airport of Pisa.

EVALUATION: The total distance by bike and on foot is 278 km / 172 miles. We are cycling mostly on small rural roads. Almost all roads are paved. The landscape is sparsely populated and hilly.
